| Saxmundham is an historic
market town at the centre of the Heritage Coastal region in Suffolk,
England. Saxmundham, or 'Sax' as it is known locally, has many local
shops and businesses, sports and leisure facilities, as well as
good rail links and the A12 trunk road that put the town within
easy reach of Ipswich, Norwich, London, and the whole of mainland
Europe.

Services such as refuse collections,
street cleaning, recycling are administered by Suffolk
Coastal District Council at Melton Hill, Woodbridge. Highways,
social services and education are the responsibility of Suffolk
County Council. The Police Station and the Railway Station
are situated in Station Approach, Saxmundham. The local doctors'
are at Lambsale Meadow off North Entrance.
Saxmundham has approval
for the development of houses in Church Street and off Church Hill.
Building is likely to commence this year. Reef Estates have
also got planning approval for their commercial development in Church
Street.
There are several major
employers within 25 miles of Saxmundham including the Sizewell nuclear
power stations, the telephone research laboratories at Martlesham
Heath, and the ports of Felixstowe and Lowestoft.
