The Saxmundham Town Council is committed
to working for the residents of Saxmundham for the benefit of everybody
who lives and works in the town.
Cllr Sir Peter Batho was
elected as our Chairman at the May 2011 meeting with Cllr Mrs Andrews
Vice Chairman.
The Town Council gets involved with decisions about such things
as housing, roads, and amenities, as well as looking after footpaths
and children's playgrounds. It also provides small grants to local
charities and groups and represents the town on several other committees
concerning local businesses and crime prevention.
Our beautiful hanging
baskets now adorn our lovely town once more. Unfortunately
due to severe cutbacks we have a limited number of displays this
year. We are very sorry if you have sponsored a basket and
it has not been displayed outside your property . We no longer
have a Saxmundham in Bloom committee and would welcome volunteers
to take on this wonderful venture or give a helping hand. We are
looking for yearly sponsorship for our sinks at £30.00 that
includes two seasonal plantings. Please sponsor one of the
baskets in 2012 - if you would like to I would be very grateful
so please contact me, Maddie Gallop, the Town Clerk on 01728 604595.
