We are currently waiting
for a response from our bid for £45,000 from the Reaching
Communities Lottery Fund. The panel are due to meet around mid-February
and we should receive a response by the end of that month. If successful
we would hope to have the new skatepark open by May 2007.

The Town Council agreed
at their meeting in September 2005 to build a skate park on the
Memorial Field using Gravity Engineering of Southampton as our preferred
supplier. On 8th April 06 the working party arranged a trip to Hemel
Hempstead to visit the skate park which Gravity have recently built
and we now have an active group of potential users working on finalising
the design details. We are hoping for an initial response from our
final application for funding shortly.

A questionnaire was distributed
at the end of June to all households in Saxmundham (1599 at the
time of delivery.) 377 responses were received by the deadline of
the 18th July. A summary of the results is given below. A report
will now be prepared detailing these results and the funding position,
to be presented to the next Policy & Resources Committee meeting
to be held in the Webster Room behind the Market Hall at 7:15pm
on Monday 5th September. This committee will then make a recommendation
to the full Council meeting which will be held in the Market Hall
at 7:15pm on Monday 12th September.
