the young people in the area are still enthusiastic about this project,
after our lottery bid was unsuccessful work on it lapsed for a while
due to a lack of committed adult support to help with the fund raising.
However, a new group (calling itself SAVVY - Saxmundham And Villages
Volunteer Youth) has recently been formed to reinvigorate youth
facilities in the area, focussing initially on Seaman Avenue Park
and the Memorial Field. A subgroup met on 11th August and things
are starting to move again. If you would like to become involved,
either as a potential user or to help with the fund raising, please

to date but they aren't gathering much interest at present and it
would be good to get them spent.
currently waiting for a response from our bid for £45,000
from the Reaching Communities Lottery Fund. The panel are due to
meet around mid-February and we should receive a response by the
end of that month. If successful we would hope to have the new skatepark
open by May 2007.
The Town Council agreed
at their meeting in September 2005 to build a skate park on the
Memorial Field using Gravity Engineering of Southampton as our preferred
supplier. On 8th April 06 the working party arranged a trip to Hemel
Hempstead to visit the skate park which Gravity have recently built
and we now have an active group of potential users working on finalising
the design details. We are hoping for an initial response from our
final application for funding shortly.
