and is ideally located for you to visit the many attractions in
the area. Saxmundham is well served for shops and banks, and the
town has two caravan and camping sites, as well as several excellent
hotels, guest houses and B&Bs. There's also a market every Wednesday.
Within an hour's drive of Saxmundham, there's beautiful heritage
coastline, several important nature reserves & areas of outstanding
natural beauty, many historic sites, and the seaside resorts of
Felixstowe, Aldeburgh, Southwold and Great Yarmouth.
In 2002, the Sutton Hoo ship burial site was opened by the National
Trust and already has become one of their top attractions in the
UK. The RSPB has its main visitor centre and bird reserve at Minsmere
near Saxmundham.
