Saxmundham Town Council is responsible for a range of local services and amenities in the town, working alongside East Suffolk Council and Suffolk County Council.
The Town Council manages and maintains community facilities such as parks, play areas, benches and litter bins, and public spaces. The Town Council also supports local events and community initiatives, including offering community grants.
While East Suffolk Council handles broader services like waste collection, planning, and housing, Suffolk County Council is responsible for county-wide services, including education, social services, highways, and public transportation.

EAST SUFFOLK COUNCIL
East Suffolk Council is the local District Council and provides service such as:
- Housing support
- municipal services and maintenance of public amenities
- Financial support for individuals and community organisations
- Waste disposal and recycling facilities
- Pest control
- Parking and parking enforcement
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
Suffolk County Council is responsible for major services which are provided countywide, including:
- Education and learning
- Environment
- Waste disposal
- Leisure and culture
- Public safety: Fire & Rescue Service and emergency planning advice.
- Registrars: registration of births, marriages and deaths.
- Social care
- Trading standards
- Transport and streets
