Cllr David Humphreys
I have been a regular visitor to Suffolk since the 1970s, and my wife’s family have been based in Essex and Suffolk for several generations. While work took us around the country it had always been our intention to return to Suffolk in retirement and we are delighted to now be settled in Saxmundham.
I taught geography at secondary schools in the Midlands before becoming a Deputy Head in Surrey and then Headteacher in Yorkshire, a role I enjoyed for nearly twenty years before working for eight years as Chief Executive of a national Schools Trust and in that role supported the work of Trustees, school governing bodies and leadership teams in their provision of education and partnerships. I hope I can use my experience, skills and interests to work with others to enhance the life and activity of the town for the benefit of the whole community.
